A vibrant campus; enriching programs for mentally challenged adults
Marbridge encompasses four, interconnected communities on more than 170 acres in the Manchaca community, just 13 miles from downtown Austin, Texas. Our campus includes residential areas, a chapel, recreation rooms, dining areas, training rooms, an art studio, computer labs, a cardio gymnasium, covered pool, softball field, an outdoor amphitheater, outdoor dining and activities pavilion, equestrian facilities and walking trails.
Marbridge provides a distinct alternative to group homes for mentally challenged adults, offering a full spectrum of services tailored to individual needs and abilities. Each of our four communities — the Ranch, the Village, The Villa and The Bridges—provides a different level of care, support and guidance. Marbridge offers residents and their families the security of knowing that they can have a college-like post secondary living experience or life-long residence. Each of our four communities provides different levels of care and independence.
Semi-Independent living for developmentally disabled adults
The Village at Marbridge is a neighborhood of 14 cottages nestled along a tree-lined street that provides semi-independent living for developmentally disabled adults. A community center provides a place to gather for meals and special events or leisure time. The Village provides a safe, caring environment that includes vocational training, education, socialization and counseling. Many Village residents hold jobs in the Austin community.
Assisted living for mentally challenged adults
A tree-lined boulevard greets visitors as they enter the Ranch campus, where we provide assisted living for mentally challenged adults who require a more structured and supervised day. Daily training and activities may include horticultural therapy, arts and crafts, sports, music, computer work, functional academics and life and social skills training. Residents enjoy a myriad of social opportunities available in Austin, all under 24-hour supervision.
Skilled nursing care in southwest Austin
Residents with significant medical care needs can still enjoy a full and active life. Villa residents participate in many events and activities on the Marbridge campus. Likewise, many Ranch and Village residents regularly visit the Villa campus to see friends and enjoy special events found only at the Villa. The Villa provides skilled nursing care to Marbridge residents as well as to patients from the southwest Austin area.
Medical recovery and rehabilitative care in southwest Austin
Tucked away in a lovely pastoral setting on the Villa campus is The Bridges Recovery Center. Its serene, comfortable surroundings, homelike setting and attentive care promote recovery from surgery, stroke or other medical conditions, so patients can return home. The Bridges also maintains a fully equipped, 1,200-square-foot rehabilitation center to meet patients’ therapy needs and to promote a more efficient return to health and improved mobility.
