Tom M. O'Brien

Chairman

Mr. O'Brien was employed by Union Pacific Corporation for fifteen years, Ultramar Inc. for eight years, and Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corp. for five years. From 2001 until 2004, he served as CFO of PPP Holdings, Inc. Mr. O’Brien received his BSBA degree with an accounting major from Creighton University in 1973 and his MBA with an emphasis in finance from California State University in 1981. His son, Tim, is a Ranch resident.

J. Mitchell Bell

J. Mitchell Bell is experienced in every facet of real estate law. His clients include financial institutions, owners and developers, and parties in secured transactions. He also counsels financial institutions and developers in asset based lending transactions, the hospitality industry and commercial finance, as well as clients involved in the acquisition, financing, and management of properties. Mr. Bell is a partner is the law firm of Locke Lord L.L.P. He is a past president of The Notre Dame School in Dallas and currently serves as the president of The Notre Dame School Foundation. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Texas Christian University and earned his law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law. His son, Jordan, has been a resident at The Village since 2006.

H. Eddie Dick

Mr. Dick holds a B.A. in Political Science from Guilford College and is a residential homebuilder in Austin. Eddie was President and Chief Operating Officer of Texas Disposal Systems, Inc. in Austin, Texas for five years. He also served as Executive Vice President of Waste Industries, Inc. in Raleigh, North Carolina, for five years and County Manager for three different counties in North Carolina for 10 years. Eddie is chair of the Construction Committee. His son, Justin, is a Village resident

Stephen T. Matthews

Mr. Matthews is President of Steve T. Matthews Company specializing in commercial user land transactions. This work involves working with Clients from preliminary location studies to the completion of entitlement requirements at the government level. His primary focus for the last 10 years has been the representation of Simon Property Group (SPG) in Texas and the Southwestern United States. He also serves as attorney of counsel for Barron & Adler, L.L.P., a boutique law firm devoted to eminent domain cases in Texas. Mr. Matthews has extensive experience serving on non-profit boards, including Boy Scouts of America, Rotary Club of Austin, Keep Austin Beautiful, Inc., The Hundred Club of Austin and the West Austin Youth Association.

James Stacey

James, a native of Houston, arrived in Austin in 1967 to attend the University of Texas and graduated with a BA in Sociology. He attended Southern Illinois University and Purdue University with studies in affirmative action, multi-disabilities in the workplace, and business as it relates to individuals with multi-disabilities. James comes to Marbridge with a strong background in financial planning and organizational skills, having held positions such as Director of Commercial Sales at McCoy's Corporation, Vice President at Vaughan & Sons and Stripling Blake Lumber Company, as well as Director of Long Term Care with Texas Department of Human Services.

Julia Nickerson

Julia Nickerson is an attorney who has helped hundreds of families plan ahead legally for a special needs loved one. She has been practicing law and helping families with estate planning since 1997. Ms. Nickerson is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Ms. Nickerson has been deeply affected witnessing the struggles her brother and sister-in-law go through raising their autistic son. Their experiences have inspired Ms. Nickerson’s passion for assisting other families with special needs. Ms. Nickerson is the founder of Nickerson Law Group, an estate planning and asset protection law firm based in Austin, Texas. As well, Ms. Nickerson helped found the Special Needs Forum which educates families on issues relating to their special needs children and is the author of One Evolution at a Time, a Special Needs Planning Guide. Ms. Nickerson, her husband and three children live in Austin, Texas.

 

Thomas H. Leyden

Secretary

Mr. Leyden has spent his career in the field of education, including experience as a middle school principal in Plano ISD for 25 years. He presided during a time when the school was honored as a United States Department of Education Blue Ribbon school.

Mr. Leyden was also selected as the Texas Principal of the Year in 1999 by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and was recognized by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. He was a founding member and past president of the Texas Middle School Association and currently holds the position of associate executive director for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals.

Mr. Leyden is a past president of the Marbridge Parents and Families Association. In January 2010, Mr. Leyden, along with dedicated Marbridge staff members, residents, and community members formed a Dream Team and began the process to design, fund, and build the Victory Hall Athletic & Event Center on the Marbridge campus.

Mr. Leyden holds a B.A. degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Education degree from North Texas State University. His son, Kyle, is a resident of the Village.

Richard A. Cabrera

Mr. Cabrera is the chief financial officer for SAM, Inc., a survey and mapping firm in Austin, Texas, providing geospatial data solutions through advanced technologies. His experience spans more than 20 years and includes merger and acquisition work as vice president of finance for the international division of Browning-Ferris Industries, as well as chief financial officer for Texas Disposal Systems in Austin.

Mr. Cabrera's experience also includes independent business consulting and public accounting at KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP. Mr. Cabrera holds a BA in Economics from Rhodes University in Memphis, Tenn., and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.

John D. Head

Mr. Head is a partner in the law firm of Fritz, Byrne, Head & Harrison, where he practices environmental and administrative law. He holds a B.A. degree in psychology from Stanford University and a law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. Prior to advancing to partner in his own practice, Mr. Head worked with Vinson & Elkins of Houston, Texas, and served as chief legal advisor for the Texas Water Commission. His brother, Joe, is a Ranch resident.

C. David Perry 

Dave Perry is the CEO of OneGlobal Partners, a consultancy that works with early and mid-stage technology companies in the US, Europe, South America and Asia to develop and execute global growth strategies. With a long career with both large tech companies and three startups, Dave has deep global commercialization skills in technology, systems, enterprise IT and data center infrastructure, medical technologies and SAAS/Cloud.

With a professional career in sales, marketing and P&L leadership with Texas Instruments, Avocent Corporation, Zebra Imaging and Tenduit Software, Dave can leverage his broad career achievements and relationships on behalf of his clients. His major startup accomplishment was achieved with Avocent Corporation, a datacenter management systems company, that he joined in 1998 and led to $500M+ annual revenues, eventually culminating in a $1.2B acquisition of the company.

Dave teaches entrepreneurship in the MBA program at the Acton School of Business and mentors for start-up accelerator Capital Factory, the UT Longhorn Startup Program, the 3-Day Startup program at Texas State University and the Enterprise Futures Network.

Dave is a veteran of the US Air Force and earned his bachelor’s degree at Texas State University, an MBA at Hardin-Simmons University and is a 2003 alumni of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Dave and his wife Debbie live in Austin, Texas and have two sons, John and Michael. John is a resident of Marbridge.

Michael Moulton

Michael Moulton is the North American Finance Director for ALK Abello, a Danish pharmaceutical company focused on the prevention and treatment of allergies. He has also held the roles of CFO for ONR, Inc., Vice President of Finance for Marbridge Foundation and Vice President of Finance for Lone Star Circle of Care. Before making the career switch to healthcare and service oriented companies, he worked for over 20 years in the semiconductor industry. Mr. Moulton actively supports other organization in a board capacity. He has served as a Board Member for TruWest Credit Union for over a decade, and is the President-elect of the Austin Chapter of Financial Executives International. He holds a BS in Healthcare Administration and Management from Alfred University and a MBG from the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas.
